How to Open a Business in a competitive marketStarting a new Yoga Studio in San Diego is like opening up a Pizza shop in Manhattan’s Little Italy.

What does it take to succeed amidst a seat of “competitors?”

In this week’s interview, I sit down and talk with Kirk Hensler, the owner of Hale Holistic. Part Yoga studio, part kickboxing gym, Hale Holistic is seen as a bit of a paradox by some in its San Diego Community .

Love it or hate it, Kirk’s unique business model and refreshing approach to life has him seeing green and giving back to his community at the same time.  In the video you will learn about Kirks brush with obscurity as he almost left the United States for good, but a last minute change of heart birthed the concept for Hale Holistic…….. and the rest is history.

Transforming your ideas into reality…

Do you wish you possessed the power of transforming your ideas into reality?  I mean the biggest, juiciest most exciting, life changing ideas?

It’s been often said, even the best idea in the world is powerless without taking action and transforming that idea into reality. In this video I talk about the concept of transforming your ideas into reality through action and embodiment.

Hey what’s going on, my friends? It’s Matt Ritchey here and I just wanted to share a little breakthrough I had couple of weeks ago, that I’ve really been meaning to share with everyone.

That breakthrough is about truly going from conceptual to being.

I’ve learned so many things on my journey that I couldn’t possibly put them all into action. But, when it really comes down to it my dreams are only real if it’s her in the real world.

If it’s in your head, if it’s in your mind only and that’s the only place it exists – then it doesn’t exist.

The sooner I started putting things from conceptually knowing them in my mind to out there in the real world – that’s when real change started happening, that’s when transformation began to transform my life.

This is the most powerful thing, that I’ve learned, because there are so many great tools out there and I learned so many great things, but just to know them and put them in your head – it’s not enough. We have to be out there living it, doing it every single day. And as soon as you do that you will be experience real change.

So, I am excited for you guys to maybe take this tip, employ it to something you’ve learned in the last day, week, month, year, whatever it is and see how it changes your life.

Success Secrets of the Rich and Happy

Every journey no matter how great, is always started and completed by one simple step at a time.

Maybe you want to start a business, or start a new career. What is your first step?  Raising $100,000 dollars?  Driving to Trump towers to talk to Donald?

Try taking a friend out for lunch (your treat) and share your ideas with him or her.  Try to make it someone who is knowledgeable about business or your area of interest.  A little step like this will help you get clear on the next step.

Don’t have a friend who is successful or knowledgable about business or your area of interest?

Then it’s time to find one.  The best place to start is usually Facebook or another social platform.   The idea is that there is always someone out there willing to help someone who is eager to grow and help themselves.

If you apply simple (bite sized) steps like this, over the course of a year or two you will look back and be amazed at your progress.  But, if you fret and struggle and TRY to take giant leaps, you will look back and see folly and wasted time, energy, & money.

Be Natural:  When we observe the intelligence of nature, we rarely see struggle or chaos. Often, we see simple graceful evolution and motion.  Apply the intelligence of nature into your daily life by taking small graceful and confident steps towards that which you desire.

If you’d like to schedule a complimentary call with Matt to discuss your ambitions and get clarity on how to get what you really want,

you can learn how to do that on the coaching page.

If you want to read the article instead of watching the video:

In today’s video I want to talk to you about baby steps.

Now, I know you are all after big things, have great ideas, something you want to start in your life. Sometimes it can feel pretty daunting right? Pretty scary to start. My advice to you is to break it down into small actionable items that you can take daily consistent action on.

When you take daily consistent action it builds this energy within you that gives you confidence and a knowingness like: “Yeah, I can do this”.

Then, after thirty days it becomes a habit and it becomes part of your everyday activities.

So, start and do small actionable items every single day. Maybe You want to start running, or you want to start meditating. Even if you want to start reading more books, whatever it is. You should take action today and start your base line.

If you can only run for five minutes – go run for five minutes. If you can only meditate and clear your mind for thirty seconds – meditate for thirty seconds. If you only have time to read ten minutes a day – read ten minutes a day. It doesn’t matter.

Taking daily consistent action will build confidence and get you there faster than working in small outbursts and spurts like I used to. I used to wait and procrastinate and wait till the last minute and boom get it all done at once. I just didn’t feel the energy or the confidence that I needed to continue on it, so I waited until I got enough courage again and 10 days, a week, or even a few later – I’d take a little more action. This just wasn’t serving me, so I decided to start breaking things down into small daily steps that I can take action on. Once I started doing this, only then did things start changing for me.

The energy that you create when you are in consistent daily action is amazing. So, whatever it is that you want to start – start today and as a bonus find someone to do it with you.  Maybe they won’t even do the same thing as you, but it definitely helps to have an accountability partner.

Maybe they want to start running and you want to start meditating. Write each other an email, text message, phone call, whatever it is. Every single day send that person a message, keep them accountable and they will keep you accountable. This is hands down one of the best ways that I have found to get to the momentum going in whatever you want to achieve.

So let me know how it goes for you in the comments below. I wish you guys a great day.

“There is nothing either good or bad.  Only thinking makes it so.”

Is framing the key to a happy life?

Could this famous quote from Shakespeare actually be the key to a happy and successful life?

Find out in this week’s Podcast Video (keep reading)

“Life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you react to what happens to you.”

Is there something “out there” in your life that is keeping you from achieving your dreams?

Is it your family?

Maybe its your lack of “education?”

Maybe if your boss would give you a raise you could save up enough money and get out of that place you despise?

It’s a radical thought to think that everything in your life IS YOUR FAULT and it IS YOUR CREATION?    But is it really true?

Sure, the town you were born in, and the parents who raised you… that wasn’t your choice, was it?

It’s not your fault that your boss is an ego maniac, cheapskate that doesn’t appreciate the work that you do, right?

These things might not be your fault, they are 110% guaranteed, without question,  100% your problem!

So, you see all of these problems in your life that you want to change.  All of these problems combined into one big problem that leads up to a big problematic life, and a world that is always out to drag you down and keep you there.

Does this sound like someone you know?

Truth is, that person was me.

I reached a point in my life where things were so bad and so uncomfortable that I could hardly stand to be in my own skin.  It seemed like everyone was out to get me, to challenge me, to make me look stupid.

Looking back I can see how silly it was, and how I could easily change my life.  For some reason I decided to let it take me five years to change, but I realize that one little secret made all the difference in helping me create a better life for myself.

That little secret is called re-framing your situation.

Jeesh… that doesn’t very sound magical, or awesome, does it?

But it’s the true!

Looking back at myself five years ago, I can see that I was beginning to build a determination to create a better life for myself. I wanted a better life. I wanted it bad.  The thing is, I wasn’t doing very much about it….except for maybe annoying all my friends and family talking about it.

The me that I was five years ago wasn’t very pro-active.  I would have to be in some sort of discomfort to even move at all.  For me and my life… Things had to get bad in order to get me to move!

Now I can happily say: “Thank god my life was so terrible or else I would have never reached out for more!”

What is terrible about your life?  Can you see the blessing it contains?   If you can’t right now, don’t worry. In time you will.

What does it take to change your life?

As I have gotten a little better at this game called life, I can see challenges coming, and I’m beginning to re-program myself and say: “Wow, this was unexpected,  I wonder what blessings and benefits this has in store for me?”

To make a long story a little bit longer,  Everyone has challenges, but not everyone has problems.  The happy, healthy, wealthy people I have come to know and love rarely have “problems” (myself included.)  Not because things don’t come up, but we have an ability to re-frame our “problems” and see them as challenges and as fuel for growth and expansion.

In this week’s podcast posted below, Matt and Kyle talk about some challenges that they’ve had in business and provide some skills and tools on how to overcome them and benefit from them.

If you are ready to eliminate the problems in your life, you must first see them as friends and as fuel for growth that are actually there for your growth and benefit.

Listen to this week’s Podcast to get the low-down on becoming a pro at handling life’s “problems.”

We all have 24 hours in a day, but how can some people get so much more done than others?

Watch the Video to find out how the New Rich make the most of their time and relationships.

Hey, I want to talk to you about Single Tasking.

So, if you’re like me, my entire life I have been a “multi-tasker”. I would have five things I need to get done in the day and work on them all simultaneously.  I figured the more I can do at once, the faster I’ll get done.

About a year and a half ago, I found single tasking, and it is just like it sounds. You do one thing at a time, have your singular focus, and you are completely present with it.

Now, single tasking can be used in multiple areas in your life. I use it in my thoughts when I meditate, when I am trying to generate ideas. I also use it when I work. So instead of having five goals for the day and taking me eight to nine hours to accomplish them, I pick one at a time and I section them up into  fifty minute intervals of work.  In four or five hours, I was able to accomplish what used to take me eight, nine or ten hours a day. And not only I can accomplish tasks faster, I am more present and more focused on the work so it gives me better results.

Overall the main benefit of single tasking is in my relationships, because in my relationships when I am single tasking, I am completely focused on the present, and when you are engaged with another person, you are able to connect on such a deeper level.

This connection allows more love, more transparency and just a better overall connection in life.  This has been one of the biggest breakthroughs in my world.

I suggest that you pick one of the three ways we talked about:

Your meditation or your personal thoughts – to clear them out just pick one at a time.

Your work – work only on one thing at a time – no email, no instant messenger, no facebook, no nothing; And most importantly, I would recommend you to try with,

Your relationships – whenever you are talking to somebody don’t be checking your phone, don’t be thinking about work, don’t be thinking about anything other than the present moment, really listen to people, In listening is where we can connect the deepest and have the most impact.

Let me know in the comments below how it goes for you and until the next time – have a great day!

Erin Krug, owner and formulator for Krug’s Ecologic has been passionately pioneering in the natural soap industry for the last couple of years.

In this week’s video, we sit down with Erin and talk about her humble beginnings, and her rise to sudsy popularity.

Doubling her business every year, Erin is no stranger to success, all the while creating a sustainable product that contributes to the wellbeing of her customers.

Ever the Blue Spoke, Erin’s simple and organic business model allows Krugs Ecologic to grow at a sustainable pace and still meet the demands of her growing customer base.

Like many great ideas, Erin’s business was born from necessity, meeting the needs of her family.  During the long cold Pennsylvania winters, her children’s hands became chapped and sore.

Erin attributes her success to “just doing it”.  “You never know, until you’ve tried.”  This philosophy has served Erin and her business to the point to where she is ready to bring on her first few employees and take her business to the next level!  With a degree in biology, Erin put her skills to use and began formulating her own soaps using the highest quality natural and botanical ingredients available.

You can also read the conversation below:

-Hey how are you doing everybody? So, we are here with Erin Krug and she is coming all the way from Altoona, Pennsylvania. I am here in sunny San Diego, California. How are you doing, Erin?

– Good, how are you, Matt?

– I am great… So, why don’t you tell our listeners a little bit about yourself and exactly what it is that you do, what your passion is?

– Well, I am the owner and formulator of Krug’s Eco Logic. We produce all natural soaps and skincare products. Everything is made from scratch and I sort of started my business as a way to help my children, for their sensitive skin issues and it just blossomed into a business from there.

– That is pretty amazing. I don’t think you told me how you got that start and that’s just an interesting building block to go from because without that issue you may not have even come onto this.

-No, no, in fact I remember the day that I decided I needed to do something. My son was three and he came out of the bathroom after washing his hands repeatedly with a regular bath soap and his hands were all cracked and started to bleed. He was crying and I knew that I had to do something for him and being a bit of a nerd and a biology degree holder I decided that I could do something in my own house, in my own kitchen to help him with his hands.

– Yeah, that’s awesome. So, you make all the soaps yourself?

– I do. I make everything from scratch, I’ve formulated all the recipes myself and each one is formulated with a specific purpose in mind and with very high quality natural ingredients.

– Yeah, I really like how you said they are vegan, right?

– Yeah, they are vegan which means that there is no animal by products. There is no lard, no honey, nothing that was derived from an animal. They are all plant based – even the scents are plant based, whether it be from the roots, or the bark, or flowers, or leaves. Even the scent comes from plants.

– That’s awesome.  I know back on the east coast vegan isn’t really a big thing. But in California there are quite a few vegan people, restaurants, places to do that kind of stuff.  Actually I stumbled upon a place in the mall yesterday Lush. Are you familiar with that place?

-Oh yes! Yes they have quite a following.

– Yeah, I didn’t actually go in, but it looked like a pretty interesting store from outside and I know it looks kind of like what you do.

– Right. There is a bit difference. Some of their products aren’t quite as natural but it is the same kind of concept, yes.

– So, who is your target market you guys go after. Is it specific for people who have allergies or is it more just anyone who wants to be all natural?

– I would say our main demographic is somewhere in between the ages of let’s say 25 and 45. We are gaining actually quite a male following, because of the men’s skincare products we offer. I made a pale ale beer soap and Yeungling lager with it, as well as shaving oil and aftershave. So, we are gaining quite a male following just from those three products alone.

– And just a side note – anyone not on east coast Yeungling beer that’s actually the oldest brewery in America… and it is in Pennsylvania.

– Yes.  And so, I use that to be as local as possible with a nice popular beer.

– That’s awesome. I love how you kind of sourcing i local and keep everything true to where you got started.

– Right.

– You sell more locally or more nation-based?

– I sell all over the country, all over the world actually but I’ve been doing some farmers’ markets here locally. Right now I am in farmers’ market four days of the week, but most of my business is done online and through the magic of facebook, I’ve gained quite a following on there and a lot of sales and business actually stem from facebook, from sales and giveaways we do online.

– Yeah, that’s beautiful. The social media has super powerful reach and following. People really  use Facebook as a resource and use it to find and talk about things they love, know and trust.

– Right. And, you know, we especially on facebook we try to keep it fresh and interesting and to talk about and discuss things that people win, and in that sort of demographic that people are interested in it. We like the back and forth conversation that facebook allows to. And it allows me to get to know my customers and what they are really after and in fact in some cases they help to formulate different products. I ask them what they would like to see in a soap, in skincare produc,t or a lip balm and I take the feedback from them and go from there.

– Yeah, that’s awesome. I know about myself – personally I love dealing with companies, who are just very conscious of what they do, how they make it and who is listening to the customer, to have a conversation. The old marking tactics of this megaphone yelling at you, what they want to sell you doesn’t really work the way it used to, so companies will listen to the customers and make what they want.

– Right. The philosophy and the meaning behind my company is that it began with filling a need, and at the beginning it was for my children and now it’s not only for my family but also my customers. So I like to be able to help them with their needs and facebook really allows me to do that.

– Awesome. So, tell me a little bit more about when you started, originally for yourself and a few friends and family, how did it really take off? Give me the quick story.

– Well, it didn’t really take off right away. It was gradual and you know, it’s still gradual as far as, you know, figures and numbers and everything in the business are still doubling every year, so that’s good.

– That’s awesome, yeah.

– Yeah but in the beginning the growth was slow because I didn’t put a large chunk of money down on the business. I started one product at a time. I bought the ingredients for one bar, one batch of soap, I made that batch of soap and you know, I just went from there. And again from customer feedback I took what some of my customers were looking for, formulated a product for that customer and just went from there.

– Awesome. So, you’ve been open for how many years now?

– This is the fourth year I’ve been selling, and about five and a half years that I’ve been making everything.

– So, you’ve got it down, you process pretty well.

– Oh yeah, I can turn out a batch of soap pretty quick.

– That’s good. So do you have people… you are one woman show or you have employees to work with you?

– Right now I have an employee who packages all of my orders wraps the soaps, does all the labels. Currently I am doing all the farmers’ markets although just today I spoke to a girl who I am pretty sure I am going to hire to go ahead and do that to allow me time to produce, because it’s growing right now pretty quickly. I need that time to be able to produce the products so I will to have a girl who is going to do all the farmers’ markets, I have somebody that’s packaging the orders and I will be just doing the production.

– That’s great. So I know you said that you’ve been doubling every year. I know you pretty big media attention. Tell me a little bit more about that and how that happened.

– Well, I was, whenever… let’s say maybe three years ago I started to sell on Abe’s market. I am not currently on there right now, I need to get back on there actually.  I had a little bit a bump in the road last year so I took down some of my selling venues, so we’ll be getting back on Abe’s very shortly. I started selling on there and they’ve been fantastic with getting my business and other businesses out there.

Through Abe’s I was in Entrepreneur Magazine, Inked Magazine, The New York Times and I’ve been through another selling venue called Etsy, I got to have my pale ale beer soap on HGTV – it was a holiday special, and also CNN actually came to my home and followed me around for a while and watched me do what I do and videotaped and interviewed me, it was pretty crazy. You know, we got to see ourselves on national TVs, so it was pretty neat.

– Yeah, that’s pretty awesome when you can just tune in and say “hey watch CNN at like five thirty – I will be on there”.

– Right. Yeah, it was pretty neat I must say.

– So, any advice for like aspiring entrepreneurs out there? I know everyone thinks that A – B – success but really it is like a zig zag … and you finally get there. Any tips on your journey and how it’s really transformed you and what you can really give back to other people?

– I would probably say, you know, you are right with the fact that getting from A to B isn’t so direct. You have to sort of try a little bit of everything and see what direction works for you. I would definitely say that if you are not passionate about whatever it is that you are doing, you are not going to be successful. You have to have that passion to drive you. I think that is first and for most. I also think that you should take whatever you are good at whatever is likeable about you to other people and just put it out there and use whatever venues you can in whatever manner you can to get your product or your service out there. And for me – I think I have a lot of Italian in my genes, so I am a bit of a talker and so the facebook fan page really works for me because I can converse with my customers and my demographic and I go to farmers’ markets, I just like to talk to people and I think because I am passionate about what I do that really comes out in our conversation.

I think, as a business owner, a small business owner, when customer is buying your service or product they are not just buying that product but they are buying you, your passion. So, I think it’s really important to really be passionate about whatever that is that you are providing.

– Yeah I totally agree. If you are like people who think “Oh, I can’t compete with them and their product” but everyone is so unique, everyone has their own life experience and perspective and the way they make their product, so it cant possibly be exactly the same product.

– And that’s how it is, you know, the markets or the events that I go to, there could be three or four other people that are selling a similar product, but mine in some way is way different than theirs.   I have my own unique products and way of formulating them. Everyone is different and everyone can be successful.

– Yeah, I think that is a huge thing that people just don’t really grasp right away. They don’t really have to straight-up compete with a lot of people, that they really are in their own competition, because there is no one that does exactly what you do regardless of the product you put out.

-Right.

– So, I head you say the word passion about three or four times and that’s really great. I want you to convey what your passion is and what your ‘why’ is. Why you do what you do, what makes you do it?

– I think I just like to help people and I really like that I can make something from scratch that I created on my own, that can help them whether they have a skin issue or they just haven’t found the right product for them or to help their face to help their dry spots, to help cleanse their face, to keep their hands from cracking. I know that my products can help them and I love to be able to help them with those sorts of issues.

– Yeah, that’s great. I love your passion. I can tell just talking you and and  your passion really comes out when you speak about this and when you obviously put in in your products and people can feel it when they buy it.

– Thank you.

– Is there anything else you’d like to share with everyone else?

You know if you are interested in opening a business or starting a business I would say “ just go ahead and give it a shot, because if not you’ll always wonder why, or what if, or what could I have done”.

– Yeah I agree. The regret of not doing something is way worse than failure. I think a lot of people think that failure is such a bad thing, but everybody fails, every good entrepreneur has failures. And it’s not about failures, it’s about what you’ve learned from the failures, it’s about getting back up and really going forward and so, thinking it’s A to B is A to fail… back to A… to fail and eventually you get to B.

– Right.

– I think that’s so important for people that have a passion, have a dream, whatever it looks like, and really help them get started. First step is always the hardest.

– Yes.

– I used to be  runner, and we would always say the first mile is always the hardest.

– Oh, yes.

–  I know you are a runner as well.

– Right.

– And for me, I don’t know if for you, but the first mile is crazy – I am like “why am I running” and after a mile it is getting better, I feel my body getting used to it.

– Right. And for me it’s getting out of the door.

– Yeah, so I really appreciate your time and I know you are a busy person with lots of interviews yesterday. We had to reschedule because you had an interview with a TV show, or I am sorry not a TV sow, but a newspaper.

– It looks like you are obviously getting recognized for the great things you are doing, so thank you for taking your time to be here and share your story with us, because I feel like you’ve got a lot to share.

– Thank you. Thanks for having me.

– Thank you to everyone out there listening. If you want to get in contact with Erin, what’s the best way, Erin?

– The best way is – you can go to my website www.KrugsEcoLogics.com and there is a little “contact us” link, just go ahead and click on that and that comes right to us.

– Great. I will put a link in the bottom and in the comment section so people can check out your website and really check out your products, because obviously it doesn’t matter where you are in the world, you can order your products and enjoy irritation free skin. I may do the same. I’ve actually never tried your products. I am really disappointed that I’ve never done that but, for a man I feel like I don’t have skin problems, so it’s not a high priority for me but I feel like I should take a better care of my skin.

– Oh, I will just have to send you some.

– I appreciate that, thank you.

– Bye everyone, thank you for watching and we will catch-up with you next time, thank you.

Are You Experiencing a Saturn Return?

Saturn Returns!“UGH! Everything feels like it’s falling apart!

I’m not happy anymore, I don’t like my life and I want something MORE!

But what do I want?

And can I even HAVE what I want? Why does everything feel so UNSETTLING?”

Sound familiar?

Chances are, if you’re reading this, you’re probably feeling like you’re in the midst of a storm, at a crossroads in your life — you don’t know which way to go and are afraid of leaving the comfort of where you’ve been, even though you feel pushed to change.

Anxiety is settling in your stomach, and you feel like something is missing. There’s a pull inside you, yearning for MORE. All of the sudden, things don’t feel as fulfilling – your job, your relationships, your day to day activities. You feel stuck in unfulfilling work, and you don’t know how to change it, or what kind of change you even want.

What is this feeling?

It’s called a Saturn Return – and it affects everyone.  According to some, every 27-30 years in a person’s life, there is a shift – a desire to re-evaluate and shift direction towards inner fulfillment. Things seem to fall apart (so they can fall into place) and things that are no longer in alignment with who you are begin to fall away. Relationships that are no longer working end, careers change, sometimes the entire direction of your life can change.

Why are you having it?

This phenomenon is so universal that celebrities like Drew Barrymore have admitted openly to experiencing it, and Gwen Stefani of No Doubt sings about it on her album “Return of Saturn.” Even R.E.M. wrote a song about the phenomenon.

The name Saturn Return comes from the astrological idea that every 27-30 years, Saturn “returns” to the place in your chart where it was present when you were born – thus completing its own cycle around the sun.

What can you do about it?

In our first experience of a Saturn Return, between the ages of 27 and 30, we are pushed toward abandoning the experience of working/living/existing “just because” and moved into a new experience of purpose, fulfillment and contribution as we realize our powerful ability to create what we want in our lives, standing in our power and beginning to identify with the term “adult”.

Transitioning from adolescent to “adult” can seem daunting and frightening. The truth is, the fear we experience around this transitional time is simply an indicator of the excitement of change into something that feels better and is more in alignment with who we really are. Fear is simply excitement without breath, and transforming this energy can make the difference between feeling stuck and being liberated.

When things feel like they are falling apart and you’re standing still in a tornado of uncertainty, it can be difficult to get clear about what you really want to create in the next 30-year cycle of your life, and even more scary to think about what is really possible.

Dare to dream!

When you allow yourself to see the possibilities in your life, and you visualize what you truly want, you step into your power and get in alignment with the true force that will allow you to create exactly what you want in your life.

You dream for a reason!

Imagine having the job or career that you DREAM of. Imagine your perfect partner – a relationship filled with love, joy and excitement. Imagine your life full of abundance, joy and ease, waking up every day knowing you are living your purpose while experiencing inner fulfillment. All of this IS possible, and now is the BEST time to realize that you have the power to create those experiences in your life.

As someone who has recently transitioned through my own Saturn Return, I can understand and empathize with the fear that comes with it. My life has transformed dramatically over the past several years, and as I re-evaluated what I really want in my life and what I’m really here to do, I began to create a life of complete fulfillment, and am now helping others realize their own potential, purpose, passions and possibilities.

Are you ready to transform your life?

Have you thought about what it would be like if you could free yourself from your limting beliefs?

What if you could start the business you’ve always dreamed of?

Maybe you’ve wanted to travel the world or just break free from your dead end 9-5?

All of this is possible!

It all starts with your thinking!

They say that what you think creates your beliefs and what you believe creates your actions and of course your actions create your life.   So, the fastest way to change your life is to start with your thinking.

This can be challenging because we are always “inside of our own head.”  Sometimes it’s hard to tell if what we are thinking is helping us, or keeping us down.

Sometimes having a friend or a caring person to listen to and give you honest feedback can dramatically accelerate your ability create the life you’ve always wanted.

Your “Saturn Return” is a catalyst – a jumping point for your journey into a new world or a new life – a world that YOU create.

You see, about five years go, I left the comfort of my friends, family and a high paying job to venture into the unkown, my spirit was calling me to something greater.   As it usually goes, I had no idea why I was going, I just know that I had to.  Finally, 2,500 miles later I settled into a little place called San Diego California.  The beautiful sunsets and weather aside, I met a community of people here who are living lives that just a few years ago, I wouldn’t have believed possible.

I like to call them the “New Rich.”

Too often in our society our wealth is measured by money alone.  Don’t get me wrong, money is often an important part of a wealthy life, but I realized truly being Rich is so much more.

The lessons I learned from this community have been nothing short of incredible. They taught me not only how to make money doing what I love, but how to live life on my terms and have relationships that are more amazing than I previously thought was possible.

Growing up in a small town in rural Pennsylvania, I didn’t have access to this unique way of life, but now with the power of technology, I have dedicated myself to sharing what I call “The Secrets of the New Rich” to anyone who wants to learn.

That is why I created the “New Rich” video library.  In the library you will find great videos and guides on how you can unlock the secrets of the new rich in your life.  Trust me, if  a small town Pennsylvania farm boy can do it, You can too!

The best thing you can do next is to head over to the library and get started today!

So, I appreciate you joining us today. I’m sure that you have a busy schedule and you have a lot of going on.

So, why don’t you catch up our readers on what exactly you do and how you got started?

Sure! My name is Jim Simcoe as you know, and I run a green business company called Simcoe Green Homes, and what we do is – we invest in properties all over the country. We take homes that are in really bad shape, “Fixer-uppers”, bank owned  foreclosures,  we green them up, we transform them from “fixer” homes, “worst house on the street,” into healthy high-performance green homes. And have been   doing it for a while – we started the consulting about 6-7 years ago and spent the last couple of years investing.

-So,  why don’t you tell us a little about, personally, how you got started going from an everyday  9 to 5, to really living some sort of passion that you feel would help the world?

– My last corporate job, I worked for company where I ran a sales team. I was one of the leading sales managers in the country. I had an unbelievable boss – just awesome person, wonderful person. She is still a good friend. I did really well, I liked what I sold and I made a ton of money. All that being said I wasn’t happy – I really wasn’t following my passion, I really wasn’t , in my opinion doing anything to leave my mark in the world or make the world a better place. So I left it. I started a real state company. I bought real state company, and from there I started green consulting.

– What exactly is your ‘why’? Why you do what you do? How does this affect you and everyone else?

– Yeah, so, my life is really simple. I really believe that helping green homes should be available and affordable to everybody. So I don’t think they should be available just to the super-wealthy. I also don’t think they should be available just for low-income housing where there is money from the government  to do it. I think it should be available for everybody. So, living healthier, spending less money on utilities is something I believe is crucial to the success of our society.

– Yes, I couldn’t agree more. It’s great to hear from people that are from a little bit older generation other than myself are still thinking that way and having some sort of shift.

– Yeah.

– Thank you for your time Jim. I’m going to wrap up this episode, but have a great day and i’ll talk to you soon.

– Okay. Sounds great, thanks!
